2024/25 Personal work, Hama Beads, 40x70cm

We find home in childhood memories and the nostalgia they carry. But I often wonder which memories are truly mine, and which are shaped by photographs or family stories. Snippets of the past pasted together to tell a story of my childhood. The phrase refers to the malleability of memory, how we can adopt memories from others and how each time we tell a story of our past, the memory changes slightly. The pixelated text is made from Hama beads, a craft I used to love. The naive and childlike material is suspended, creating a delicate structure and casting a shadow of itself on the wall behind.
